Burnt Soil jest to remake stareńkiej gry, Scorched Earth, w której na przeciw siebie stało po kilka czołgów strzelających na przemian w turach do siebie. Poziomy są losowo generowane, co znaczy, że nigdy nie zagramy na takiej samej mapie.

W grze możemy walczyć z komputerem na różnym poziomie trudności. Mamy do wyboru różne modele czołgów, mapy mogą być niszczone przez ciągły ostrzał. W grze jest też upływ dnia i nocy.
