iptables

Iptables i netfilter są blokami wewnątrz jądra Linux 2.4.x i 2.6.x. Umożliwiają one filtrowanie pakietów, translacje adresów (i portów) sieciowych (NA[P]T), oraz inne działania na pakietach. Jest to przebudowany i znacznie usprawniony następca systemów Linux 2.2.x ipchains i Linux 2.0.x ipfwadm.
Iptables jest ogólną tabelą struktury dla definicji zbiorów reguł.
